I understand theres been several members upset about posts being removed. Some posts were removed because they arent news. A political action committe is having a fundraiser in 4 months is NOT news until its closer to the time of the event. The future is called foresight and belongs on a calendar not the front page. The past is history. News is whats happening now. Lets focus our posts on whats happening now, what affecting us now, and what information needs to be shared. This avenue of knowledge, Mat-Su Valley News, affords us valley residents to disseminate information to people rapidly. We admins have no desire to quell your speech. We just ask your posts relate to current events. Comments go where comments go, thats discussion. In fact, there have been very conservative posts started by admins over the course of this group. This isnt a trove of liberal trolls. This is a page adminned by humans who are split down the political spectrum whether you believe it or not. But the original post needs to be news, not some diatribe about your dislike for a particular admin, something that happened over spring break 2 months ago, a problem with some local business who ticked you off, or a rant of any type. A lost pet is happening now, despite my detest for those posts. A fundraiser happening now for a nonprofit is news. Lets focus on sharing news, and stop trying to convert people to your political leaning or demand a pity party because you disagree with how were adminning. Create your own page. We have over 11,000 members because people want to read the news they cant find on the mainstream media sites as quickly. Let them read the news, not your agenda. I really dont care what your opinion of me or this page is after your read this, but my job as an admin is simple - we will not allow our hard work by which we earned the membership and attendance of over 11,000 people to be used as your personal soap box any more than you would be okay with an admin posting a political rant. Some admins have very strong leanings, but they comment with those leanings, not post whole new threads with them. You are welcome to comment with civility (no personal attacks) as well, even if it is an opinion different. Post news. If you have a problem with an admin, PM an admin. Dont take it to the wall just to garner likes so you can feel self-important.
