Money was used from the early years and the beginning of sideshow throughout Britain. I decided to use clean unused Chinese hell money as placeholder because i like their history and contoversial spiritual use. (more info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money_burning) Stapling it to my body came almost natural as this semi-permanent way of attachment displays vividly my relationship to it. The pain of earning it here expressed with the action of stapling and almost equal the pain of loos expressed in bleeding when the staples come out. Holding onto it is difficult filled with contradiction because i want to be free of the attachment but cant live without it. Its a circle of gain loss and re- gain witch is almost impossible to leave behind if ones is wishing to live up with a certain standard in life. The sad clown, isolated from his audience he is trying to make contact but realises the world he is living in a endless lonely loop. He can see and hear us but he cant interact. Desperately trying to show off his tricks to amuse us and find a way of connection. Popping is Balloons will help! But he is falling over becoming a tragic figure failing his dues. How will he earn his pay if he just isnt funny? He is casing his success. Unhappy and lonely.
