I uploaded a YouTube video yesterday (A Real Tithe Is More Than 10 Percent) to which someone responded that the tithe pre-dated the law and went on to say that this is proven by Abrahams tithe. My partial response to this common statement was that if you believe what Abraham did was a tithe according to the way it is taught today, then you should really be giving 100% not just 10%. Furthermore, Abraham gave 100% of his spoils from war- not his income- and he gave it to Melchizidek who is a type/shadow/represenation of Christ. Just goes to show the point I made in the video, Christ is bigger than the law and the tithe was always meant to be a representation of Christ and not what it has come to unfortunately mean today. There is a lot more to this, but just wanted to share this point as I hear it so often.
