I urge you all to locate and listen to President Nixons resignation speech. It is a reminder of how our country has turned upside down since those days. Whatever one might think of Nixon, he was a trained constitutional lawyer who made a career of politics. He adhered to the basics of democracy. He resigned because the Congressional opposition to him threatened the countrys interests. Congress now has no interest in the countrys well being. The Republican party has abandoned the common good as a mission. Even Nixon would be appalled. And that says a lot.
