I use a number of different programs to watch form and develop - TopicsExpress

I use a number of different programs to watch form and develop training programs that will give what I hope that extra edge of power. Some of its trial and error other times its based on scientific knowledge of understanding the human body. Needless to say I spend a lot of time reading. Forever reading on new advancements and separating the BS from whats worth implementing and Im not just talking BMX pretty much any sport. I get asked a lot if Im just a BMX coach or better yet am I just a female trainer (Both get a good chuckle from me) My answer is no and a definite no! Im a trainer for any athlete whether male or female thats looking to step up their game in their given sport. What I have learned is regardless of sport all you have to do is understand the mechanics of the movement of that sport. Whether its Volleyball, Fast Pitch, Football, or BMX Racing there are movements of the body that have to be developed to exceed at any give sport. I realize every athlete is different in emotions and how much you can progress them based on what is known as the Principal of Specificity or Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands (SAID Principal) which states the body will adapt to the specific demands that are placed on it. I spend a lot of time analyzing a track and watching riders. Whats good, whats bad and in my opinion the best way to get through a section. Im pretty much a nerd when it comes to breaking down things. A little too scientific at times but Im a mechanical engineer by trade so Im nerdy like that. On the flip side Im a sponge when it comes to learning and not afraid to break down the barriers of status quo when it comes to new technology or what I feel is something that can develop an athlete further. My hope is to take an athlete to the next level. Beyond the methods of training we utilize now. When I started working with a few of my athletes I stressed training the body in different planes of motion the body goes through daily. Whether the transverse plane, sagittal plane, or frontal plane. All have to be developed to build a better body. With that said Elida Beeman just set a personal record doing a plyo box jump through the transverse plane at 32. It may not seem like much but coming into the box transverse and standing all of 51 is quite the accomplishment. Shes my pit bull and full of power and not afraid of the demands I put on her body to progress. #WinningWednesday 15 Days! #GreatestRaceonEarth #2014Grands #AmazingAwaits
