I use humor and dark humor most of the time. Seriously, they have prescribed pain pills for me because the pain is the most bizarre. Imagine, when you hit your elbow as the pain subsides you still have that throb. Well, that is my pain everyday, they call it "phantom pain" since the "surgery" (preferring that word to amputation). The meds do help, but I have insomnia, fog like feeling, altered my usual sunny personality. I cannot wait to stop taking them.
