I use mostly tubed amplifiers with outputs ranging from 8 to 80 watts each. I have a big solid state amp with 160 watts pr/ch. My primary speakers are Klipsch La Scala(s) which are vary efficient. Even with a relatively low power single ended tube amp it can get uncomfortably loud. I must say for classical music, film scores and dialog the La Scala with my home-brew zero negative feedback parallel push-pull 300B amp is about right. Everything is quite well defined with plenty of presence and punch. The whole system sounds more powerful then it actually is.
