I used to have a strong team of rapporteurs (mainly journalists, editors and writers) but it has disintegrated - one person left the country, others went to work full time for the government or development agencies, one got married and lost interest and tragically, one really strong rapporteur and well known sub-editor who was part of the team passed away. I am trying to get together a team again. This is probably not the kind of work that anybody absolutely loves to do but it is short and intense and not badly paid. There seems to be a lot of rapporteuring work out there at the moment and I am constantly being asked to tender. If you can take really good, comprehensive notes on a laptop under pressure; home in on the key issues; pull out key threads at short notice; work as part of a pressurized team, and compile a strong report for policy makers - and if you are interested, of course.
