I used to have friends, some i bought in my primary school days, - TopicsExpress

I used to have friends, some i bought in my primary school days, those i was leased to and others i acquired by inheritance from my kins. There were the ones from my secondary school and university days and the ones we did the National service together. And the ones with improved lifespan were the ones we faced the same trauma and danced to similar dilemmas. We were friends for long before the agony that brought us together got new titles or went into oblivion Friendship is not easy to keep nowadays. Who will think that those night reading crew of success-hungry brothers will ever dissolve? Who will believe that we will need new friends? Our brother-men and sister-women that once were never look like what is ephemeral. Friends be like we could last forever under the sun or in the rain. And when they couldnt afford to pay the rent of where I occupied in their heart, they let me me go. First it was me, then the rest of what was once us. Sincerely, there is no such free accommodation anywhere. Now better things occupy why i used to live. The thought of the future and the struggle to realize it is one. The quality of friendship we have nowadays cannot compete with that, for sure. And next is the need for change. But what really erased our footstep is the urge for better ones. What else might have informed that change i might not know all. But for someone like me, the friends whose rent i could not afford were those that sent me packing from theirs but i still manage their cookies for sake of later reunion. Dear friend (if at all), good night.
