I used to listen to Randi Rhodes on WJNO here in West Palm Beach FL when I lived here in the mid-1990s. Was she good & very funny! Her show was mostly comedy (I guess she was a stand-up comic for a while) with a little news & commentary thrown in. Very entertaining. And she was married at the time to a nice guy named Jim & told great stories about her home life. Funny. But shortly after I left Florida, she made a major decision & went ALL-POLITICAL, ALL-DEMOCRATIC all the time. The few times I tuned in, I couldnt believe how serious & angry & pedantic she was. The only thing I liked about her new format was her website & the way she encouraged listeners to DO THEIR HOMEWORK on the issues. How many radio personalities actually care about their audience getting educated on the issues? Not many. But she lost her touch. Her husband divorced her. Air America couldnt handle her. Then, I guess, Premiere couldnt handle her or vice versa. I listened to her a few times last year & of course she media-mirrored me. Kind of ironic that Premiere Radio Network decided to drop her show in November 2013, about a month after I arrived in Florida. Ive been reading some less-than-complementary things about her on the Internet, so she wasnt as saintly as some of her audience thought she was. BYE RANDI.
