I used to put a lot of emphasis on specific days. New Years, Valentines Day, Christmas, etc.. Those days are all here to get us to spend a little more money, or think a little harder about certain family members, friends, girls.. anything to make us feel a bit more nostalgic about the past and hopeful about the future. But thats not me. Not anymore. Its just another day. Im not staying up late to drink champaign with friends and count down the last seconds of the year. The new me isnt any different than the old me, other than the fact that Im a bit older, more bald, and admittedly, more cynical. December 31st holds exactly as much importance as June 1st, or August 3rd, or October 29th. Its just another day, and Im getting ready for bed. So keep it down, please.
