I used to read a lot when in the Navy. This was for a couple of reasons ... there was no internet as we know it today, and when not working, frankly - there was nothing else to do anyway. ( when out to sea - I was on an aircraft carrier - we spent a lot of time out to sea ) I have, along with seemingly a vast majority of civilization, frighteningly dumbed down quite a bit, and rarely read anymore. ( Me male - I just look at pictures on the computer ... ) I might actually have to get some electrical charges firing across the ole noodle and crack open an actual physical book though. My brother just let me know that this is newly released. I read the 1st three in the series and started into the 4th but the story just got way to deep and weird ... Initial reviews that Ive just perused indicate that this new one kinda gets back to the origins of the series - ie; back to the original three. I actually read the entire first book (Interview with the Vampire) on the plane my first time flying to Japan. That was June or July of 84. A couple of years later while in the book store on base I happened to notice The Vampire Lestat sitting on a shelf and it just reached out to me ... there was something, I couldnt place it - but something, very familiar with that name. I read the first couple of pages right then and there and immediately knew what I had. Bought it and devoured it in a day or so ... this was by far the best of the series. ( and should have been the movie that got made as opposed to Interview ... ) Anyway ... :) nerdist/2014/10/book-review-anne-rices-prince-lestat/
