I used to tell people that I find it more important to participate in a Referendum than in General Elections and people would find me weird... Expecting a leader to make serious transformation of our nation is like giving a blank cheque to a stranger in the hope that he will only cash out as you instructed... The truth is that, Kenya is far from producing such a trustworthy and reliable leader. Thus, General Elections, mischievous Parliament and moribund Laws alone cant guarantee us better leadership.... In fact it should be a tradition for us to go to a Referendum every 5 years just as we go for a General Elections. This way, we can correct the many erroneous and mischievous laws that are passed by Parliament to enslave us... this is possible! We must make Referendum and General Elections as affordable as possible through usage of modern technologies including Mobile phones, ATMs, Internet, etc instead of ever depending on the expensive, laborious and ineffective ballot boxes...
