I used to think it funny when people described an outing to the doctor as a big day but thats how yesterday was! I saw the oncologist, where I learned/did a lot! They did testing for Lynch syndrome, to see if I have hereditary cancer, and I learn those results in a month. I also started back up with my iron infusions, another set of five over 2 weeks, getting the first yesterday. My poor tummy is infected at the surgery site, so Ive still been really hurting and am on some strong antibiotics. My lung mass will be reexamined in a few weeks. Our big news though is that the surgeon told me last Tues that Id need chemo but yesterday the oncologist said Im within guidelines not to need it :) :) So for now, no chemo! If the lung is malignant, that would still likely be radiation instead of chemo. So yay! Sorry for not responding to so many of the texts, (missed!) calls, messages - Ive felt kinda miserable and havent been up to it. I will get back with you all eventually, I promise :). In the meantime, please pray for this infection to clear so I can heal properly. Should have no new news for at least two weeks but SO thankful that it looks like chemo is off the table for now :)
