I used to think there was something wrong with me. I cared too much, invested too deeply, and was too honest. I openly showed my emotions and loved freely. About thirteen-ish years ago I met a man who was so much more who taught me that there was nothing wrong with me in those ways. If anyone truly did these things too much then it was Him. So, I bear the whispers behind my back, the same back riddled with knife marks. I endure the graceless looks of those with hardened hearts and icy stares even while they smile to my face. I weep inside to rarely see a hand reach back in love an compassion that extends beyond the confines of ones own interests. I do all of these things while desperately trying to prepare the current and future leaders of the faith to endure and surpass these things...and then prepare to face them from outside of the church walls as well. In the end I just pray my deeds (not my name or my reputation) have helped to truly improve and save lives for the glory of the kingdom.
