I used to travel 30km with a sack of charcoal on my bicycle, to sell it so Id have some money to buy soap to clean the house. This was Ndicas life, the same live shared by hundreds of thousands of extremely poor Mozambicans in a country that went through nearly four decades of fighting. Without skills, theyre condemned to a struggle for survival. After two years acquiring metal working skills at Tariro, he graduated in 2009 with the skills and the work attitude that has kept him working and given him the dream that perhaps, one day with Gods help, he might build his own workshop business. A Place Called Hope features seven people whose lives have been made hopful by their contact with Tariro, a place whose name in the local language means Hope.
