I usually do not post long messages but tonight something truly special happened. Jim and I were invited to Citifire restaurant where James is one of the managers for a research and development tasting. They were getting opinions of items being considered for the menu. We were greeted and taken to the private dining room. Candles were burning and the place setting included plates with our initials in chocolate.James appeared with a bottle of my favorite cloudy bay wine and we realized this was really a special treat for our 30th anniversary. He presented us with the menu and said he would return with the first course. Panic went though my veins- goat and veal meatballs- tuna with watermelon foam-me being one of the most picky eaters in the planet-I did not want to hurt his feelings-He appeared with caprese salad for me and shrimp cocktail for Jim-perfect. He then said we should try the veal and goat and I was trying to figure out how to move the food around enough so he would think I ate it and I would not hurt him. My favorite of all times-a grilled cheese with bacon-Jims favorite-a cheeseburger medium rare- were delivered. Our dessert was merangue with ammaretto cream and chocolate covered strawberries. What a wonderful surprise. He remembered food we mentioned that we ate on dates years ago and loved more than any fancy food on the menu. We are so blessed to have the best sons on the planet. They each continue to make us proud and bring us unbelievable joy. I just wanted them to know how much their thoughtfulness and caring mean to both of us. I will never forget this evening James. I am so lucky to be celebrating my 30th anniversary on the 17th with the best husband. Love you all forever.
