I usually keep socially sensitive issues personal, but after the past racially changed events, I want to drop a simple line or two.... For one, it is universally agreed that its more difficult to be a black man in America than to be any other color man in any other country. A great deal of that is driven by historical events and the miseducation of our educational system. Black men, we can not change those events, but we can change our actions that make it hard on ourselves. To start, pull your pants up and look presentable. Stop thinking its socially, morally, and culturally acceptable to have multiple babies by multiple women. Get married and infuse family values in the next generation, or buy some condoms. Stop letting major corporations use your financial ignorance against you. Ex- if you can stand in line for a pair of $150-$220 Jordans or Foams, then you should have no problems going to an investment banker or scottrade and purchase a few shares of stock in Nike for $82.45 a share. Thinking small is wanting to own the shoe. Thinking big is I want to own the company... Educate!!! You dont necessarily have to go back to school, but reading a book, researching free classes and teachings online can help you. Learn to use correct Grammer. If you make it a habit to type, spell, and speak correct English, then preparing a resume and communicating with higher ups in your organization become easier. Lastly, Im not advising to stop using the N-word, but if you dont want to be called a n-word in public, then stop using it aloud in public. If you dont have respect for yourself, then how can you expect anyone of another race to respect you? Think big, and believe in yourself. I believe in you and I believe in the evolution of a greater culture, a greater america, and a greater Black man.
