I`ve been reading St. Francis de Sales work Philothea (or An - TopicsExpress

I`ve been reading St. Francis de Sales work Philothea (or An Introduction to the Devout Life, if you`d prefer that title), and he writes very beautifully. I love his imagery. Only half of it is from Scripture, and the rest from everyday life, but I especially like looking at his Scriptural ones, for it seems to me that he does Lectio Divina. It`s clear that he`s not doing exegesis, and he seems to be personalizing the Scripture passages he refers to. It`s amazing because I was looking for examples of Lectio Divina because I want to begin to practice it, and they were right in front of me. Now, I`m not expert, so it might not be Lectio Divina, but I leave you with his treats nonetheless (I will continue to post them as I read them). You`ll see them in my other statuses.
