I very seldom rant on here but my rant also happens to be a question to all parents. This Halloween season I have heard some comments I consider to be awkward. I heard a parent go ballistic over kids bobbing for apples because of disease prevention, but most of the illnesses she referenced cant be contracted by playing the game unless you have children bobbing for apples out of raw meat and a substantial amount of body fluids. The other comment being that a 11 year old was made to take off his costume at a birthday party because a mother said it was too scary. My question is am I old fashioned or am I just not cautious enough? I always thought kids should be able to have fun and not fear for their lives every minute of every day and that at some point they should be able to tell fact from fiction. What are your thoughts???
