I visited a church this morning in which the pastors sermon was based on the idea of the God of suddenly. The idea is that God may seem to take a long while, sometimes years, to answer, or at least manifest the answer to, a prayer. When He does act, though, He does so very suddenly, as when He suddenly freed Peter from prison after the church had been praying for him for some time. This has been my experience over and over, and sometimes when I actually expected something entirely different as an answer. Who among the disciples actually thought that Peter would be freed by an angel? I have been praying about some things in my own life very recently, and envisioned something entirely different than what God showed me today. So, when youre expecting an answer from God about something, dont be discouraged if you have to wait. If Hes already said, Yes, just keep thanking Him for the answer, without trying to limit Him in when or how the answer is manifested. Speak it out in faith, dont just repeat it in your mind. Be prepared--what He has promised may well come so suddenly and unexpectedly it catches you completely by surprise. Some surprises are good. :) Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
