I visited with my granddaughter Chanel, yesterday, Wednesday, December 10, 2014, and I was blessed with the opportunity to see her standing for the first time since April. I made a short slide show to post on FaceBook. For lack of equipment to record a narration into the slide show, here is a written narration per slide #... The music is an edited version of A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes as recorded by Steve Tyrell... #1. Chanel is brought in to the therapy room and comes face to face with the machine she will be strapped to. #2. A strap is wrapped around Chanels waist for an explanation of what she will be going through. #3. More straps are wrapped around Chanel as three therapists assist her so she can have an idea of what it will feel like when the machine begins to raise her. #4. Chanel comes face to face with the special machine, ready to accept the challenge. #5. Chanels feet are in the stirrups and strapped down. #6. The therapist explains to Chanel where and how to hold on while the chrome hydraulic lever is pumped to raise her to a standing position. #7. On the way up. Unfortunately I was unable to get a good shot. That is Chanels arm that you see in the middle of the picture. Three therapists guide her up while one watches from below and another prepares to pull the chair away. #8. Chanel is up and on her own as a therapist stands by. #9. Up and on her own, smiling for the camera. #10. After I hugged her and congratulated her, we both got emotional and cried. #11. An assistant places a pillow for Chanel to rest her head on. #12. A big smile for a closeup shot. #13. Still smiling. #14. After 10 minutes of standing, Chanel is back in her chair... CONGRATS! Sweetheart...
