I voted yes on #HRes544, the rule defining the process for considering #HConRes96. The structured rule (only certain amendments allowed) provides for three hours of debate equally divided between the chairman and the ranking member of the Committee on the Budget, and one hour of debate equally divided between the chairman and the vice chairman of the Joint Economic Committee. Five substitute amendments—including three from Democrats—are in order, but the adoption of any substitute amendment will end consideration of any further amendments. Following consideration of amendments, the rule provides for ten additional minutes of debate equally divided between the chairman and the ranking member of the Committee on the Budget. The resolution passed 222-194.
