I waited a few days before responding to my challenge for the #ALS #IceBucketChallenge, because I have very conflicted reactions to it. I admit its created a lot of buzz and funding around the topic, which can only be a good thing. In less graceful terms, it basically means that the wires that go from your brain to your muscles are deteriorating to devastating affects. Your mind, however, stays active. A great example of this is Stephen Hawking, one of this centurys greatest theoretical physicists, whos lived with the disease for 50 years!
