I walked down to find someone to talk to. I spoke to this lady and she asked me “ what are you still doing here, everybody is gone” I looked at her and said “I didn’t want to stay at the camp ground because it was very hot there” we sat and talked for hours, after a while it started to get dark and the place was closing. She told me that she knew places that I can stay that are helping Hurricane Katrina evacuees. I trusted her and I got into the car with her and her family and we were on our way. As she was driving along, I saw a Save A Lot store and my first thought was to just find a job there and stay. The place that she brought me to was a house that was near a church across the parking lot, few blocks from the Save A Lot Store. Once inside, I was amazed it was a beautiful house she showed me around the house then she showed me my room. It had two beds meaning that I might have a roommate. I plugged my cell phone into the outlet. She asked me if I needed anything. I told her that I wanted to get to a store to purchase some black pants and a white shirt. She asked “why?” My reply was, “I saw a Save A Lot Store down the road and I want to apply for a job there, I worked at one in New Orleans and I can’t be without a job” She responded, “Don’t worry about that right now, we’ll take care of you” I said “Ok” while dropping my head.
