I walked in the door with $300 of groceries and ALL THE SMOKE DETECTORS ARE GOING OFF. No fire. No smoke. And they wont stop. I got out the ladder and pulled the batteries out of every single one. Yeah, theyre hard-wired into the house ... so they will continue to beep inconsistently until I place new batteries inside each one ... but sporadic beeping from various rooms is MUCH better than the harsh shrieking they were doing. Oh, and the neighbor called to see if I could hear the horrific high-pitched noise that was making her dogs bark -- the neighbor that is 500 feet away from the side of my house with only 1 window open. Its a fun Friday!
