I walked into the Christian Business Leaders Roundtable gathering - TopicsExpress

I walked into the Christian Business Leaders Roundtable gathering yesterday. It was our first meeting in the new year. The speaker was teaching us about being servant leaders; gave us a question to discuss at our tables. What is a servant leader. Gary, who I have known for a long time, in his quiet voice commanded the conversation.Servant leader? Two words. Sandy Griffin. Then he proceeded to remind them about when I was the speaker two months ago. He reminded them about the homeless and John. Grief sat at the table with me. When the speaker took the floor again, he asked for comments and pointed to our table. Gary told of our/their discussion, while I sat with tears in my eyes. The speaker who had been listening at a close proximity to our table discussion then handed me the microphone and invited me to share my pain. I was aware the room was silent. I could feel others praying over me and helping me carry my pain. The tears rolled down my cheeks as I spoke. It was okay. it was a safe place. At the end Maurice Painter, one of Gods chosen prayer warriors and a dear friend, was asked to pray. As the leader mentioned, ...Bless the mourners. For they shall be comforted. and Maurice lifted my pain and sadness to the heavens. At 11:30 two trucks pulled in to deliver goods for the homeless, and instead of John there, I had three of the men from the morning meeting who rolled up their sleeves and unloaded the bags and bags of donations. When they left I dropped to my knees and this time the tears were tears of gratefulness. In my sadness and mourning, Gods children had stepped up and were the hands and feet of Jesus. He does indeed provide! Amen.
