I want everyone to take a moment out of their day tomorrow to thank a veteran if they know one, whether it be an elderly person who may have served on the ships during World War 2 or on the ground in Normandy or Africa,in the trenches during the Korean War,in the jungles of Vietnam or along the DMZ in current South Korea, those that fought bravely in Saudi Arabia or Grenada. Those that made sacrifices in Mogadishu,Somalia or The Falklands,Croatia or Bosnia,to those that may be home on vacation in the coming weeks from places like Afghanistan,Turkey or Kuwait. Those that are pulling rotations in Germany or the Wake Islands or 6 months in the Sinai,Egypt. EVERYONE of these men and women, whether young or old that have put on a uniform swore an oath to defend this country, our country,YOUR country from all enemies, foreign and domestic and some have come home broken and wounded, inside and out while many others paid the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives for those once great principles our founding fathers declared so many years ago. A soldier doesnt do his duty for the pay or the benefits,HE or She does it because the principles instilled inside each of us such as Humility,Dedication,Respect,Honor and so on. Its not ticker tape parades or full salutes with the commanding general on pass and review, its the arms of loved ones waiting on tarmacs and flight lines on every base in the Conus or overseas as they return home. Its a pat on the back and A job Well Done young Man from your neighbors back home. And YES,Its also unfortunately the tears,TAPS and draped coffins but its significant because it means one more soldier made it back to his loved ones and no one gets left behind.Thank them tomorrow for their effort, their sacrifice and a job well done in the face of adversity and sometimes defeat because no one wears that well in their hearts and I mean No One...Monty
