I want help this summer to get the roofing done, the big shed fixed up, the balcony repaired, the woodfired hot tub installed, the fireplace exchanged for a better system and the chimney repaired, the ceiling repaired, other repairs, cleaning out the wood lot, and clearing the tranquillity trail and to make a more lasting, care-free trail, weeding the garden, improving the beach front area, helping my neighbour, stay on my fitness and green juice plan, and maybe a bit of stretching, and biking…… and also to get my accounts fixed up perfectly and my Riversong Writer’s Retreat established….. Is it too much to ask? Anyway, good news. Bryn has fixed my gate! ( The post had split, and the hinges were lopsided, and the ice and snow and melting made it worse, as did the poor shovelling jobs after a snow storm.) He is forever in my heart, as is, of course, John Hicks. (John rota-tills my garden every year, and sharpens my knives and axes. He told me that he would like the balcony job. He is a sweet heart. I have wondered if I should do that balcony job myself, I could probably figure it out… but likely not like John would. He does lovely work and is very kind and loves to bring all this delicious food like smoked salmon and pistachio nuts with him. When Kathleen comes too, I get more lovely things done! She sews and weeds and decorates and teaches ballet, and ahhh..... ) And Reg Powell, (who hung doors once years ago, when I need a miracle to happen! and came over yesterday and talked to me about my projects.... Reg who sees with the eyes of a builder, the way a composer listens with the ears of a musician….and he is one of the kindest most honest people I ever met) . oh, there are other of you people out there—magicians… when these people are coupled, they can make a paradise around them…. Barry and Gwen Elliott are like that, and John and Kathleen, Reg and Emily, Reg and Marilyn and others, Barb and Dave, Kak and Fred, Henri and Tangachee,…. These people hardly need anything to get started and they will just make the place better____ a bit more order here, and little more beauty there….. and before you know it, a lovely place is spun, and everyone around them feels relaxed and cared for….. I love these couples…. I am very grateful for these people in my life.
