I want our children to feel that we are here to protect them from any form of abuse or maltreatment so I immediately convened the concerned department heads and agencies last January 16 to discuss measures on how we could protect the young ones because usually they are helpless and most of the time scared to report that they are being abused or maltreated. It was a very fruitful meaning as we came up with different policies and measures on how we could provide protection for our children such as: 24/7 hotline number for children, establishment of Bahay Pag-Asa, Crisis Intervention Center, seminars about children’s rights and protection for parents, teachers and children, and hiring of additional licensed social workers and child psychologist.
