I want to be a constant amid a ton of variables...so many change with their surroundings. Whether it be a teacher, a pastor, a fad, or whatever..they seem to morph into the thoughts and beliefs of those around them. While I think that changing stance on an idea is good if you have a conviction of your own, or a better understanding of a situation, constantly altering yourself based on someones thoughts isnt a good thing. I feel that trying to force your opinion on someone is *not* a sign of strength and conviction, rather a sign of insecurity in the idea/belief you are promoting. Someone who is sure in their convictions/ beliefs doesnt feel the need to be over bearing, and are generally more content, less confrontational, and almost certainly slower to the defensive/argumentative stance when challenged.
