I want to be very careful in the way I say this. We all need to get very clear about who gets to tell us to shut up, and when. So, I have to ask, are you an American or not? Do you understand what it means to have the right to speak, and to speak forcefully and critically of the people you elect to office? Do you understand that its not only your right, its your duty to stand up and speak out against abuse of power? Do you understand that every time you let someone shut you up, or even shut up someone you disagree with, you are undermining this country and everything it stands for? For Petes sake people, our forefathers risked and gave their lives to create a FREE country. Can you seriously not be bothered to risk harsh words? The First Amendment - the the Constitution - guarantees each and every one of us the right to speak in a public forum, to include a city council meeting, and express ourselves, without regard for whether or not our remarks are offensive to anyone in the room, and most certainly not the elected officials who took an oath to uphold the Constitution. If you dont know that, and youre holding a public office, you are not worthy of it, and you should resign.
