I want to clear up some confusion about Assyrians/Chaldeans that - TopicsExpress

I want to clear up some confusion about Assyrians/Chaldeans that some people may have. Metro Detroit is home to the largest Chaldean population outside of the Middle East, and Chicago is home to the largest Assyrian population outside of the Middle East. As many people in Detroit have not heard of the Assyrian and Syriac people, I want to explain that we are ethnically the same exact people, with SLIGHT religious differences. We share the same culture, customs, values, traditions and language. We are the last Aramaic speaking people of the world and are the oldest Christian civilization to ever exist. That being said, to my Assyrian/Chaldean brothers and sisters, I urge as all to continue to stand united. Im so happy to see how many people in our community have come together because of this Christian holocaust that we are facing, from Detroit, Chicago, California and Arizona (and all over the world internationally) to start making things happen. We have an obligation and it is OUR responsibility as youth to set aside our pride and continue to recognize ourselves as ONE. We need to continue to protect our people, stand side by side to save our ancient language, and preserve our heritage. We cannot let ISIS destroy our identity. We must continue to promote the unity of our people. We all share THE SAME EXACT common concerns and goals for the future of Iraq and Syria. Lets continue to sideline our pride and focus on the innocent lives at stake. The unification of Assyrians and Chaldeans is SO IMPERATIVE RIGHT NOW for the future of the worlds oldest Christians. I am a very proud Assyrian, and I will never stop fighting for the rights of Iraqs Christians. I refuse to let my people, identity and heritage fall victim to religious extremists. Remember my fellow humans around the world, your silence about this Christian genocide translates as your acceptance. The end.
