I want to continue on marriages and divorce today. Every time I have this discussion the question about Abuse comes up. I am going to tackle this from three different ways starting with two Christians first. If a Christian man is abusing his Christian wife to the point to where it is dangerous then yes common sense will tell her she needs to get out. When I said get out I mean separate not divorce because in my post yesterday we saw where God hates divorce. The wife is to pray and fast for her husband, pray Gods will because we know He hates divorce. This is not a time to go out and sow our wild oats, but to pray for each other having faith that God will bring us back together. Now for the couple where we have one saved and the other not saved. The saved one is to do the same as above. Pray for the one who is not saved. pray that God will touch that spouse, because that spouse do not understand the things of God. The saved spouse is to remain free of any type of relationships, trusting God to help their spouse. Now if that unsaved spouse walks away and gets a divorce the Bible says that we the saved is no longer bound to the marriage. The last couple I want to address is when both are unsaved, the Bible does not speak on this. These are not bound by the laws or commands of God. They are still in their sins so for this couple I will encourage them to run and asked someone how to be saved or ask me. God is not in the marriage, even tho they made covenant, they still dont understand the things of God therefore satan rules that marriage. These couples dont belong to God.
