I want to encourage people who would give a home to a loving kitty to think about the Lincoln County Humane Society. It only costs $25 dollars to adopt a cat that is not a kitten. It includes all major shots, de-wormming and de-fleeing and spay or neuter. It shames me to say this but it is true, in my opinion, there are too many assholes out there that are irresponsible when it comes to pets. I have always believed that if you can be insensitive to the needs of animals and pets in particular then you cant be a very humane person concerning people. It also seems to me that the percentage of self absorbed people is on the rise maybe because of television or the computer or social media or just stupid shallow people but the thing that is going down the bowl are the values that my generation and the next held dear but now are just not a concern. Being resonsible for the lives of other people and animals should be a natural concern but it seems to me to not be that way anymore. It has been proven that animals give people a more reasonable grounding in themselves and those around them. Now a days it seems that people are only concerned about themselves. I am making a call to all you baby boomers and the next gen to say f$%k you shallow self absorbed people and take an interest in something other than yourself and your iPhone and your shallow social media and be involved in what can help lost people and pets that are falling by the wayside ever more every day. Our government is not concerned with anything other that the 1% so we must pick up the banner and do what we can to bring our society back to the values we used to all share. RW Scott
