I want to first start start out by saying the journey I began of self improvement and my bodybuilding a little over a year ago has been the most fulfilling thing I have done in my life thus far. It has shown me how strong I can be and am when I have a mission or goal that I want to achieve. It has proven to me my own self worth to continue striving for excellence and to not settle for just being average. When I began this journey I was just an average person who felt lost and as if I couldn’t accomplish my hearts desires. That all changed when I found the drive to accomplish a goal of bodybuilding and ultimately to compete in the sport. For the whole spring and summer of 13’ I focused all my efforts on my first physique show in October of 13’. When the time came to step on stage I was ready and looked great being natural however, my competition having “extra” advantages had a much different look than I did and for this reason my placement suffered. After this show I felt defeated and as if all my efforts and time were a waste. The feeling of defeat is a tough one, it envelopes you in a cloud of darkness where anything you see can really make you turned off to the situation and to never do it again. But! 1 month after my show and leveling out my mentality and training I said to my mother and coach…. “When’s the next show?!” As I write this I am 4 days out from my next show and I cannot wait to step back on stage! I am still natural and am completely fine with it. I tell everyone that asks me how I feel about my competition and how they may not be natural and my answer always stays the same “yes its frustrating, but people can do what they want with their bodies, I feel more accomplished win or lose by doing it naturally and pushing my body to its limits.” I have a lot of love for this sport and I want to say thank you to everyone that has helped me to this point. Thank you to my mother, father, and family for pushing me and encouraging my drive and determination daily. Also a thank you to my roommates for putting up with my cooking daily and smelling up the room of fish :) I also want to thank everyone that always comments, follows me and consistently tells me how much I motivate them. Its my main objective to motivate others and to show that anyone can do anything they want if they just put their mind to it. First or last this weekend I know I’ve won because I beat my look in October and I can’t wait to show my hard work off on stage! Thank you everyone you keep me going
