I want to know what other Flyer fans think about what to do with our little goaltender situation. It seems to be the options are to obviously leave it a lone for another year then decide or to buy out Bryz and move on from his cap crippling contract and free up money. If we buy Bryz out then it seems we have two additional options or routes to go. One could be that we give Mason a shot to return to his Calder trophy form and maybe it pays off and he shows us more of what it showed in a small sample size last season for the Flyers. Another option would be to attempt to pry Jonathan Bernier away from the LA Kings either with a trade (which is rumored to possibly be Read for Bernier straight up) or sign him to an offer smart offer sheet that would give them disincentive to not re-sign Bernier given they already have a #1 goalie making around $6 million. Bernier, like Mason, is also relatively unproven and surrounded by question marks. I constantly go back and forth about whether to buy out Bryz or to find a different answer between the pipes and I am still leaning towards buying out Bryz solely because we can free up more money and improve more areas of need. So many people complain Bryz has no Defense, well we have no money to sign good d-men with his contract.
