I want to let everyone know what’s going on with Mr. Deity. First off, I want to thank everyone who has helped me make Mr. Deity a possibility for the last seven+ years. It has been a great pleasure making the show my primary occupation for that time. But things change, don’t they? For the last year, donations and subscriptions have been declining. So, when I was presented with the opportunity to take full-time work back in February, I took it. Since then, I have produced only three videos, and I am still trying to figure out how to do more. I think I’ve got a system in the works now, but obviously, we will see. Unfortunately, the job has not been the only thing keeping me from the show. Within the same time frame, my personal situation changed dramatically, and there is now every indication that Amy will no long be comfortable playing the role of Lucy on the show. This leaves only Sean and me. I’m not sure if recasting is the way to go, or something else. But that will potentially (and has already) hinder(ed) things as well. Finally, as many of you know, I had a pretty bad illness earlier this year that never quite went away. For a while, it looked like I might have something very serious. But as it turns out, I most likely have something that is chronic but very treatable. And the treatment will not have any effect on my longevity — though I might end up thinner, with less hair, and a pressing need for medical marijuana (woohoo!!!!). It could still be very serious, but a bone marrow biopsy will confirm things one way or another in the next week. I will keep you up to date when that information comes in. In any case, it is my intention and desire to continue the show in whatever capacity I can. Donations and subscriptions are still welcome, but I completely understand if you have to cut back or cancel because you’re not receiving new episodes with the frequency you desire. I totally get that! Thanks to everyone for your continued support!!! And look for a new Skeptic Presents (on the Pope) in the next few weeks along with a new Mr. Deity.
