I want to make a clarification. I used some white dude not out of dismissiveness, but because there wasnt just one, but FOUR people who failed to acknowledge me and my friends posts (were both Asian women). These people also happened to be white male. It is a problem of lack of respect because they address others when relating to each others ideas. It might have just been a coincidence that these are all white males; I never meant to generalize, but I also dont want to name names. If every time I articulate feelings of microaggressions I need to be careful not to offend the privileged group, then I might as well shut up because first, I would never be able to articulate anything, and second, the message wouldnt carry as much weight and authenticity.
