I want to mention something that is beyond special to me. I was not going to say anything at first, because I never want to put anyone on the spot and embarrass them. But, I just have to get this out...please forgive me, in advance. If you will browse through the last couple days of my throw-back posts, you will notice a name who has clicked like on several of my Pics and comments. I would like for him and all of you to know how much he has meant to me and my career in Track & Field. I was a High Schooler, doing some pretty nice things in sports (2-Time MVP in Basketball, etc), but then I watched the 1968 Mexico Olympics and EVERYTHING came into focus for me. I watched Mr. Lee Evans circle the track in an amazing 43 seconds and change. He, Bob Beamon, Tommie Smith (who I later coached alongside of), and John W. Carlos made me understand, for the very first time, that an athlete can make an impact on society that far out-distances anything within the sport. For him to even know I exist is so very humbling for me...and not many people have ever referred to me as an introvert, lolololol...I just want to say, THANK YOU, Mr. Evans!!!!
