I want to reboot Jurassic Park. Not another sequel, but a reboot. A television mini-series. Set it when the novel was published: 1989, 1990. Make it a period piece. Keep Sir Richard Attenburough and Samuel L. Jackson as John Hammond and Ray Arnold. I want Nathan Fillion as Alan Grant. Scarlett Johansson as Ellie Sattler. David Tennant as Ian Malcolm. Garrett Wang as Henry Wu. Jack Black as Dennis Nedry (with a cameo from Michael Rosenbaum as Lewis Dodgson). Russell Crowe as Robert Muldoon. Matt LeBlanc as Donald Gennaro. And Robert Duncan McNeil as Ed Regis from the novel. (Cant cast the kids. I dont keep up with child actors.) Make it word per word the novel, to fill in a mini-series. Feature all fifteen species of dinosaurs from the novel. Keep all the stuff at the beginning, with the worker getting attacked and the little girl getting bitten. Except, just to throw in something unexpected, make someone other than Nedry the Judas who betrays the park. Maybe. Just to throw the audience off. Maybe. But yes: reboot the thing. Starring Fillion as Grant, Johansson as Sattler, Crowe as Muldoon and Tennant as Malcolm. Who wouldnt want to see Mal Reynolds, Black Widow, Maximus and the Tenth Doctor fight some raptors? Dont lie! You know youd love that!
