“I want to record world events, big History told in the form of a small history, the personal perspective that gives my life meaning and significance. My work is all about building bridges between myself and the audience.” Tim Hetherington Our inaugural festival will close on Sunday with the film Which Way is the Front Line from Here? at The Phoenix Picturehouse. On 20 April 2011, British photojournalist and filmmaker Tim Hetherington was killed by mortar fire in Misrata, Libya, where he had been covering the civil war. He was 40. In this powerful documentary RESTREPO co-director and bestselling author Sebastian Junger (The Perfect Storm, War) traces his close friend’s work across the worlds battlefields to reveal what made him such a singular talent and a remarkable human being. The film also illuminates the incredible risks of the war journalist’s profession, at a time when they are dying with ever greater frequency while carrying out their work.
