I want to relate a story, not for my personal attention; but to reinforce what this station and the people who work here can mean to people that watch us. I work all the Holidays simply because I know that when people return to town this time of the year they often like the nostalgia of old places and things in their lives and that can include watching familiar channels on their TV they do not get where they live now. This carries over to our events like food drives and toy drives – many come back year after year – reminds them of their past. A family in Chillicothe brought their mother and father back into the area just now to help the mother with Alzheimer’s. She had not talked much at all since arriving here, but on their big screen TV she announced recently, “That is Jym Ganahl!” Stunned they contacted me to come and see if we could more words out of her. I did that today. She knew who I was, wondered why I was there, wanted me to take her to the store, and told me repeatedly she loved me in front of her 80 year old husband. She had a day when things seemed to work and she could communicate. Having this happen today, just before Christmas; was moving to me and I wanted to share it with you all. Thank you.
