I want to say a little something about Gratitude...after all my social network name is GratefulKim so how can I possibly be silent? As you participate in the 30 Days of Gratitude its easy to be grateful for the big things. After all what kind of person would you be if you WERENT grateful for your family, kids, health, job etc.? Those are the obvious grateful fors. But dig deeper and notice more. The daily practice of gratitude enables us to find light amidst dark...it can help alleviate daily frustrations, anger and harsh judgments by shifting your focus back to the pleasant things. But like everything else, that kind of attitude takes practice. Be grateful for that parking space in the front row, that first sip of hot coffee, the amazing way your skin heals after a paper cut, the tears you cry and emotion you feel when you see a touching commercial or YouTube video. Be grateful for other peoples wins, for the unconditional love of a family pet, the smell of cinnamon rolls or fresh cookies baking in the oven, for a good joke, warm slippers on a cold morning, nature and the seasons, freshly painted toenails, the winning touchdown, the sound of mommy or daddy from your childs mouth (when its not whining-ha!), a good book, expressed appreciation from someone, Pinterest (!), people who invent things like Pinterest, the juiciness of bubble gum in the first 10 seconds, hot, running water, when your favorite song comes on the radio, the person who held the door open for you, a short line at the bank...and SO....MUCH...MORE. Gratitude is an awesome practice...for the big and the small. Its a great way to invite miracles into your life everyday. My two cents. Okay..novel written. Carry on....
