I want to share Skylar with you all!! She is 13, we received her diagnosis about 6 years ago, she was misdiagnosed with cerebral palsey and then, simply, autism! I found out I was pregnant with Skylar the same day I found out I was miscarrying her twin. She has an older brother by 2 yrs and 2 days, hes Ivan and has a diagnosis of mild Aspergers! She adores him, and he hates how shes always following him! I think, because she wasnt diagnosed so early, I pushed her-to walk, to speak, to feed herself. It didnt come quickly, but with early interventions, year round and into school years we continued to have expectations-and she continues to surprise us every day! I love this kid-and want to thank you all for taking the time to learn a little about her!!
