I want to share with you an exciting ministry opportunity God has given me. During August 6-13, I have the opportunity to go to Managua, Nicaragua with a team from Cedar Run Community Church to care for orphans and abandoned children. Our 7 day trip will focus on serving the children at the Casa Bernabe orphanage. The purpose of our trip is to: (1) Grow in our understanding of what God is doing in the world and particular in this region of Central America (2) Befriend and help care for the children at Casa Bernabe, all of whom have either lost there parents (due to death or imprisonment) or whose parents have abandoned, abused, or neglected them (3) Assist the orphanage staff by working on practical service projects at the orphanage such as (include types of project work work here if you know) (4) Encourage local Christians and the Nicaraguan nationals working with the orphans. We want them to know that the American church supports their work. (5) Tour various sites around the area including refugee camps and cultural centers to learn more about the culture, the people and the needs that we may be able to meet in the future. I’m excited about the opportunity and experience that lie ahead. I hope you see the value in what our team can accomplish. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires support-both prayer and financial way, I know that without your prayer, nothing significant will happen on this trip.
