I want to shut down the Federal Dept of Education, but this does not mean I am against education. The smartest people in the history of mankind were educated before there was such a system. In fact, I argue that if the Federal Dept of Education existed, and compulsory education laws put in place, the discoveries of Newton, Aristotle, Einstein and Archimedes might not have occurred until centuries later. Their blatant disregard for rules and unwillingness to subscribe to conventional thought, would not have been tolerated.
