I want to speak about DOF " Depth of Field". Once you learn to control DOF it gives you control over an aspect of your photos that adds nothing If not a touch of Class.. The DOF Makes a good photo a great photo. Let me explain DOF this way. Its basically the depth of the "Focus". In other words, You can have everything in the picture, including background and foreground, in focus, which means you have a deep "Depth of Field" or You can have the foreground and the background all fuzzy and out of focus which draws attention to the subject of the photo, *Great for portraits* which means you have a Shallow "Depth of field" The term for the Blurry background, in case you ,missed it, is Called "Bokeh" pronounced Bouquet. Theres a very simple rule for controlling the DOF. The larger the aperture setting the shallower the depth of field. So Set your Cameras dial to "A" on Nikon or "AV" on Canon and work on the DOF and Bokeh :) Heres a Nice visual link to explain it in simple terms. photocourse/itext/DOF/
