I want to take a moment to share my thoughts, which some times is - TopicsExpress

I want to take a moment to share my thoughts, which some times is known as one of my rants. This weekend I was in New York City during a time when two officers were ambushed and killed. I was shocked when I heard it and thought the news media was embellishing but no they werent the officers were hunted down and killed. The week before this I photographed the graduation at the NH Police Academy where several new officers became certified officers. During part of the commencement it was mentioned that while the graduates were in their 14 week training, THIRTY FOUR officers were killed in the line of duty. That statistic blew me away and added another dimension to how special the people are who took on the job. Although I do not wear a uniform, I see so much more than the average person does on the street. I see the disrespect the officers receive from so many citizens. I see the disrespect the courts show by letting so many people back on the streets with little or no punishment. I see MPD up close and personal while they fight crime and put their lives on the line EVERY minute of their shift. Yes the media loves covering the Bad Cops and I know some people who follow my pages all want to concentrate on the bad. EVERY company in America has some Bad people working for them but the vast majority of the employees of companies are good, and the same goes for the Police. Although a big part of my business is providing coverage to the major media outlets, I also try to take the time on my multiple Facebook pages to bring the POSITIVE stories about First Responders. Last week while at the scene of a stabbing I listened to a spectator who heckled, taunted, yelled, and was disrespectful to the police at the scene investigating. He was a THUG and wanting the police to react and the MPD were patient, non-engaging, and the should be commended. I dont know where things are going in the US and I believe everyone has the right to their opinion, they DONT have the right to kill ANYONE including the police. Take some time when you see a member of the Police and thank them for what they do. Thank them for caring, thank them for protecting you, thank them for running towards danger. This is a special group of people just like the other First Responders. NONE of them do this for the money. Thank you MPD and EVERY FIRST RESPONDER.
