I want to talk about some promises God gives us for our daily living. The first one is courage. In Isaiah 41:10 God says. Dont worry, because I am with you. Dont be afraid because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you. The fears we have here on earth are not worthy of our anxiety. They dont matter because our home is in heaven with God our Father so have the courage to stand up and be yourself and show others what confidence in God is all about. Through trials and tribulations know that God is in charge and His will will be fulfilled and in the long run it will be for our good. In the New Testament It is written All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. Let Jesus carry you through the roads you dont want to travel. Just lean on Him for the courage He can give you The next one is Faith. Faith is believing that what God will do is right. The only way to receive Gods wonderful freedom for life is to have faith that he can handle it better than we can. We love to hold onto parts of our life thinking we can live it better than Jesus. It is just not so. It may not look like we want it , but I guarantee you it will be what God has in mind for you if you rest in your faith in him. The next one is contentment. How many of us are content with all our needs met? I dont think many of us are content. We want the next best material thing to come along and are never satisfied with anything. God promises to provide us with all our needs not what we think we need but our real needs to live. 1 Timothy 6 says Serving God does make us very rich, if we are satisfied with what we have. We must not lose sight of the fact that our eternal treasure is In heaven with Jesus The next one is love. John says that I give you a new command: Love one another. You must love one another as I have loved you. Are we willing to love another person so much that we would give our life for them? That is literally what Jesus did for us. Every person is special because God made them. It doesnt matter what they are like and shouldnt matter to us either. We are commanded to love others just as Christ did. The following one is hope. In Romans it says If God is for us,no one can defeat us.. This promise is wonderful for when people mistreat you and hate you. God says no one can defeat us as long as we are living in His hope of eternity. Our hope is in The Lord and He is our shield of protection. That hope helps us cope with every situation we find ourselves in. Another one is strength. Isaiah 40 says He gives strength to those who are tired and more power to those who are weak. The people who trust The Lord will become strong again. We must have eyes to trust and believe in the unseen. A prayer I have read says. Please give strength to those whose anxieties have buried their dreams, whose illnesses have hospitalized their hopes, whose burdens are bigger than their shoulders. Remember God is our strength Last promise is patience. Romans says that We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces character, and character produces hope. And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out His love to fill our hearts. In Phil 1:6 it says God began doing a good work in you and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again. Ask God to help you be patient with all lifes circumstances and rest in the promise that God will complete His work in us. It is so amazing to look at these promises but so hard to believe it in our everyday life. Join me as I attempt to rest in these promises that God has given us. If we can our life will be so much better in every way and we will truly be able to live as if we were dying every minute. Take life one minute at a time living in that minute as if it were your last to get the perspective God has for us. Have a great week.
